Trachelipus camerani is an isopod that is rare in captivity, it is native to parts of Italy, Greece and some of the Balkans. The form sold here originates from stock collected in Corfu. This relatively large species has an exaggerated skirt giving them an interesting silhouette. Their varied colour adds to their visual appeal; as they occur in a range of greys, browns, creams and oranges. T. camerani is quite hardy and tolerant of a wide range of temps and humidity.

Their large size and relatively soft body also makes them a great food source for lizards like geckos. This species prefers to hide under cork bark, and a pile of flat pieces creates the optimum refuge for them. If keeping them in a drier setup add a deeper substrate and spray 1/3 of the enclosure to keep it damper, a layer of sphagnum moss on top of the substrate in the area is also worth adding.

Sold in a tub of 10.

Please note that for the health and safety of these animals we will not ship Woodlice in cold weather.
