This remarkable specimen is a genuine foot claw from Suchomimus tenerensis, a large spinosaurid theropod dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous of West Africa. Rarely available on the private market, fossil elements of Suchomimus—especially well-preserved pedal claws—are highly sought after for both their scientific and display value.

Suchomimus is known for its long, crocodile-like snout, strong forelimbs, and semi-aquatic lifestyle. While its massive hand claws are more commonly associated with its unique adaptations, its foot claws were equally important for traction, stability, and movement through its river-dominated habitat. This specimen offers a rare opportunity to study or display an important piece of the dinosaur’s locomotor anatomy.

Sourced from the fossil-rich beds of the Tegama Group in Niger, this claw features excellent preservation, with clearly defined curvature and natural bone surface texture. Fossils from this region—especially those of large theropods—are tightly regulated and increasingly rare due to restricted site access and government-controlled fossil export processes.

This premium specimen is ideal for collectors, educators, or institutions seeking a genuine and significant representation of African spinosaurid paleofauna.
