The Millipede-Eating Centipede (Edentistoma octosulcatum) is a large, distinctive centipede species native to Borneo. It is notable for its relatively robust body and specialized feeding habits, preying primarily on millipedes—an unusual diet among centipedes. Its coloration is typically dark brown to black, and like other centipedes, it is fast-moving and venomous.

In captivity, a horizontally oriented enclosure with deep, moisture-retentive substrate is recommended to allow burrowing and natural hiding behaviour. Leaf litter, bark, and cork pieces should be provided to create secure hiding areas. The species is highly secretive and will spend much of its time concealed.

Humidity should be maintained at moderate to high levels (70–85%), with the substrate kept slightly moist but not saturated. Good ventilation is important to prevent stagnant conditions. A shallow water dish can be provided, though hydration is often obtained from the environment and prey.

Temperature should remain stable within a moderate range, avoiding excessive heat. This species does not require direct basking but benefits from consistent ambient warmth.

Feeding is highly specialized: this species primarily consumes millipedes, and may not readily accept alternative prey. Feeding should occur in the evening or at night when the centipede is most active. Due to its venom and speed, caution should be exercised during maintenance and feeding.
