Chip is a premium coir substrate that is 100% organic, sustainably sourced and perfect for all reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. This chipped coco is made from coconut husk generated as a by-product of other industries, making it a sustainable resource.
When made damp this chip substrate aids burrowing and holds humidity, making it perfect for animals requiring high levels of humidity. It’s manufacturing process involves sterilisation so it should not mould or rot, even if made incredibly damp. It can also be used dry for species from arid environments.
It’s non-abrasive nature makes it great for juvenile animals and those with softer skin. It is highly absorbent and keeps odours at bay. A favourite of our customers, we have found this substrate perfect for hatchling and juvenile Royal/Ball Pythons, though it works equally as well in large vivariums for other snakes and lizards. Easy to clean and replace these loose bags are ready to use straight out the packaging.
Sold in an unmarked clear plastic bag.
