This listing is for a pack of 4 authentic goniatite fossils, each one showcasing the coiled shell of an ancient ammonoid that lived in prehistoric seas long before the dinosaurs. These fossils are preserved in a fine-grained limestone matrix and are collected from the Devonian strata of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

Goniatites are distant relatives of modern cephalopods like squids and nautiluses. Their tightly coiled, chambered shells served as buoyancy aids while they navigated the warm, shallow seas of the Paleozoic Era. The intricate suture patterns that sometimes appear on their shells are characteristic of this now-extinct group.

Each specimen in the set is unique, with variation in fossil visibility, matrix shape, coloration, and polish. Some may feature prominent spirals with detailed chamber lines, while others show more subtle impressions in the stone.

A great addition to fossil collections, educational displays, or natural décor, these goniatite fossils are beautifully preserved remnants of marine life from over 350 million years ago—offering a tangible link to Earth’s deep past.
