The Giant Canyon Woodlouse (Porcellio dilatatus) is a relatively large isopod found in Western Europe: throughout Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France etc. Their hardy and adaptable nature makes them easy to care for and an excellent beginner species; and great as a custodian in many different setups. They can be quite a shy species but become more bold when kept in larger numbers.

Their large size and relatively soft body also makes them a great food source for lizards like geckos. This species is also quite drought tolerant compared to many other isopod species on the market; making them a good candidate as clean-up-crew for slightly more arid environments. If keeping them in a drier setup add a deeper sand/soil substrate and a couple of more humid areas to act as a moist refugium.

Sold in a tub of 10.

Please note that for the health and safety of these animals we will not ship Woodlice in cold weather.
