Dairy Cow Woodlice are a Porcellio laevis colour variety that has been selectively bred from the usually all grey form to be white with varying amounts of black. This colour morph is also known as ‘Panda’ and ‘Dalmatian’.

P. laevis is a very hardy species that is tolerant of broad ranging temperatures and humidity; with all colour varieties requiring the same care; making it an isopod suitable for beginners. It’s on the larger scale in terms of size and one of the easiest isopods to keep and breed. They will eat anything and therefore also make an excellent custodian for bioactive enclosures.

Their common name of Swift Woodlouse is down to their high speed they can attain when exposed.
