The Zebra Isopod (Armadillidium maculatum) is a visually striking woodlouse species found in southern parts of France and into Italy. Their namesake bold black and white stripes give them an attractive appearance; and their ease of care makes them a great addition to an isopod collection, or as custodians for a bioactive enclosure.

This striped species likes to live in large groups, this accumulation of many individuals makes them feel more secure, and often large colonies will sit out in the open. Being a European native, this species is easily maintained and is very tolerant of a range of temperatures. A. maculatum do best kept between 17 and 24°C in semi-arid environments with a humidity of 55 to 75%. They may have issues moulting if kept at too high humidity.

Sold in a tub of 10.

Please note that for the health and safety of these animals we will not ship Woodlice in cold weather.
