Armadillidium frontetriangulum, known as the Corfu Painted Woodlouse, is an easy and attractive isopod for the beginner. A less commonly seen species of Armadillidium, that is just as hardy and bold, these woodlice have a dark grey to black background with white and yellow spots that look like droplets of paint.

In general; European species of Woodlice are the easiest to keep here in the UK due to them being from similar climates to our own, though many are not as colourful as species from the tropics. However some select Armadillidium species break this mould by having increased colours; such as frontetriangulum, gestroi, werneri and klugii.

An easy species to maintain as they are quite hardy as long as they are kept humid. In nature they are found mainly on rocky cliff coastlines, a high humid environment due to the buffeting of the sea winds. The majority of the coastline where they are found is made up of sedimentary rock like Limestone and Sandstone, a natural source of calcium. Many European keepers suggest adding a couple of pieces of these sedimentary rocks in the enclosure to replicate their natural environment and provide a natural calcium source for healthy growth.

Sold in a tub of 10.

Please note that for the health and safety of these animals we will not ship Woodlice in cold weather.
