Trachycephalus resinifictrix is a large, robust arboreal frog best known for its striking blue-grey coloration with bold dark brown banding and creamy white accents. The skin often appears waxy or glossy, particularly in adults. This species is nocturnal and spends much of the day resting in elevated retreats such as tree hollows or cork tubes.

In captivity, Amazon Milk Frogs require a tall, well-ventilated enclosure with plenty of vertical climbing opportunities. Cork bark tubes, branches, and broad-leafed plants are essential to replicate their natural resting sites. High humidity should be maintained through regular misting, but good airflow is critical, as this species is prone to skin issues if kept in stagnant conditions. A shallow water dish should always be available.

Feeding response is strong, with adults readily accepting larger feeder insects. All prey should be appropriately sized, gut-loaded, and dusted with calcium and vitamin supplements to ensure proper nutrition and growth.

Amazon Milk Frogs are best kept as display animals and should be handled minimally due to their sensitive skin and defensive secretions. When housed correctly, they are hardy, long-lived frogs that display calm behaviour and predictable nocturnal activity patterns.
