Coco and Coir substrates are made from the husk of coconuts. As a by-product of the coconut farming industry; it is 100% organic, sustainably sourced and perfect for all reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.
When made damp all forms of coco husk substrate hold humidity very well, making it perfect for animals from humid environments that require high levels of moisture. The manufacturing process involves sterilisation so it should not mould or rot, even if made incredibly damp. It can also be used dry for species from arid environments.
Coco is highly absorbent and keeps odours at bay. It’s non-abrasive nature makes it great for juvenile animals and those with softer skin. Incredibly easy to clean and replace; it also looks great when mixed with bark chips, soil and leaf litter in naturalistic bioactive enclosures.
