Supplementation, particularly of calcium, is important for many reptiles. It is recommended to dust all livefood and vegetables with a form of mineral supplement. Different species require different levels of the various nutrients, minerals and vitamins; so there are various dietary supplements on the market with varying levels.

It is difficult to 100% accurately replicate the diet of exotic reptiles and amphibians and so their captive diet will not contain the same levels of required nutrients. It is therefore important to dust the animals food with various vitamins and minerals to ensure any lacking are made available.

Gut-loading of insects is also important, and different foods are available to feed crickets and locusts before they are offered to your lizards to make sure they are as nutritional as possible.‚Äč
