Hamsters & Gerbils are small rodents found across Europe, Africa and Asia; they are a common prey item of snakes and carnivorous lizards found in the same areas. In nature most snake species have a varied diet consisting of all sorts of small mammals, birds, frogs, lizards, etc; rather than being limited to just rats or mice. More unusual rodents are ideal to feed to increase variety in your animals diet. They are also a good at encouraging feeding in stubborn animals as they have a different scent to other rodents such as rats and mice!
All the rodents we offer are produced on our own fully licenced farms in Europe, where they are raised on high quality diets in clean environments and dispatched in a humane manner prior to being flash frozen and shipped to our warehouse where they are stored in specially designed walk in freezers. All the procedures involved in the care, breeding, dispatching and freezing of our frozen hamsters are in accordance with the guidelines outlined by food standards agencies in the UK and in the EU. They are kept in dry ice during transit to ensure they arrive frozen.
